Power Strips with removable power cables

Sign in to disble this ad
Anybody know of a power strip with a removable cable? I've been looking for some, and can't find any. Does anyone make them? I'm wanting to put it in my pedal board, and I can't afford the power bricks, and the cable for the strip just takes up too much space.

one spot. you have the basic adapter, and then you have to buy an attachment that gives you the ability to power 5 pedals.

heres a link to the products.

Im pretty sure he means a power strip, the part you would plug the 1 spot into Lol. He wants the power strip to stay on his board, but wants to be able to remove the annoying lengthy cord. Smart idea for us effect lovers who have wall warts. I wish I could find one of these as well.

I did a quick search online and found nothing. It seems a removable power cable doesn't apply to most practical applications of a power strip and I definitely seems possible but would be very rare if there's something out there.

I suppose if you asked at a hardware store they might have an idea, but as you can see talkbass or common internet searches might not help.

Hopefully someone can chime in and help us out

buy a power strip with a short cable, then use an extension cord.
just my thought. there may be a better idea.

Yea I was thinking that as well, but why would a company make a power strip with a really short plug chord? The shortest I'd say they would make it is so it can reach from a common wall outlet to the floor.

It probably wouldn't be too difficult to modify one for a standard 3-prong removable cable.

a company would make a power strip with a short cord because they just want to make you mad. then you either throw there product away or go back to the store and buy their extension cord. the never ending circle of corporate domination.

Haha I wanna be the corporate jerk making that product right now.

But of course I would have selfishly made the short consumer aggrevating cord just to use it on my board and laugh at the customer's misfortune

What if you were to modify a power strip to have a power cord kind of like an amplifier/computer cord? The kind that has a female and male end. Then you can just pull the cord out. I don't think it would be too difficult to modify

Thats what I was thinking about doing, but if I could find one for a few bucks that would work, I don't have to worry about screwing up a power strip.

Hey, maybe I can send this idea off to some big company like belkin or kensington or something.
