Question Power supplies interchangable?

Sign in to disble this ad
Quick question for you guys. I have a Boss PSA-120S 9V AC adapter. I am using it to power my TU-2. I will be buying a PCS-20a (daisy chain) so I can power my BF-2 from the TU-2.

I guess my two questions are:

Will the daisy chain be able to power other Boss pedals through the power from the TU-2 tuner?

and Will my CryBaby 105Q be able to draw power from this daisy chain, or even the Boss 9v? or do I need something from dunlop.

thanks much!

In this particular case you're good to go. The Dunlop wah takes the same type of power supply as most Boss pedals. And most (small, analog) Boss pedals draw only a small amount of current (amperage, "mA"), so they should be fine on the daisy chain off the TU-2. What you do is look in the manufacturer's specs for the current draw of each pedal you plan to hook up, and then add all of those current amounts together. Then look at the amount of current the power supply is capable of putting out. Make sure the first number is smaller than the second one.

Be careful with the larger question of whether "all" power supplies are interchangeable, because you have to match up voltage, AC vs. DC, current needed/supplied, and polarity.

Thank you very much!

I only plan on running the TU-2, BF-2, and 105Q for now. As long as I can do all of this through the Boss 9V adapter/Daisy chain combo, Im good to go

I might run 1 or 2 more compact Boss pedals, which should keep me within the power output.

Thanks!!
