Power Supply for Boss Pedal

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi everyone,

I have recently acquired a Boss CEB-3 pedal and I am getting sick of changing 9V batteries.

I wanted to get a cheap power supply from the electronics store but they have different models.

I know I need a 9VDC with around 200-500 mAmp of power. Here's my question : some power supplies have the + side in the center, some have the - side in the center.

Just want to know which one I need, don't feel like frying a new pedal.

Thanks,

Go to your local music store and pick up a Boss 9V power adaptor. I use my pedalboard to power most pedals, but use a Boss power adaptor to power my Boss RC-2.

You need the center-negative one

Thanks. Why pay 20-30$ for a power supply that says BOSS when I can get one that does exactly the same thing for 2.99$

Well, that's debatable. Cheap supplies often have poor noise filtering, poor voltage regulation, and flimsy cables and connectors.

if you have more than a couple of pedals, you can also opt for a OneSpot - power up to 8 pedals from a single unit...works well with Boss, MXR, Zoom, etc..they cost about $25 on eBay
