Power supply interference issue.

I picked up a cheap (£30) 10 way 9v DC power supply (by Power Bank...the small, light plastic housed one) and I've noticed that when my pedals are all connected up, and I move the connecting leads that link the pedals up to the power supply, the sound crackles and pops horribly.

I've got extremely limited knowledge, but I suspect this might be a shielding issue or something- would getting a 1 Spot or something more pricey like a DC Brick solve this?

My effects chain is (currently): bass => Ibanez LU20 tuner > BBE Opto Stomp > EHX Octave Multiplexer > Boss CEB-3 > EHX #1 Echo > MXR M80 => amp.

A 1-Spot won't be much better. If you want clean power, get an power brick with isolated outlets like the Voodoo Lab Power Pedal Plus

I'd get the Voodoo in a shot if I had the budget. It may be time to dig through my gear for an ebay selling session.

Just so you're forewarned, the Dunlop Brick is just a daisy-chain in a box, it is not an upgrade over the Onespot or similar. The fact that your signal crackles and pops when you move the power cords is a sign of bad connections, not bad shielding. The jacks, the plugs, or even the wires themselves, are making a bad connection between the pedal and the power supply. This is a result of cheapo manufacturing. That's one way in which the more popular daisy-chain supplies would be an upgrade over what you've got--they aren't great, but they usually connect with no issues.

I'll bear that in mind, Bongo. I had suspected some QC issues as it didn't do it with my previous power supply. The 1 Spot looks like the way to go for now, on my budget. Cheers!
