Powering Pitchfactor and Modfactor on same board?

Sign in to disble this ad
Wanting to put a Pitchfactor and Modfactor on the same board.

What powering options allow them both to run noisefree at the same time along with say 2 or 3 normal 9v pedals without a tangle of wall warts?

Thanks for guidance.

I think the short answer is: nothing. I can recommend good parts and mounting instructions if you have a pedal train, though; found a great way to work with wall worts.

Any info on how to work with the Walwarts is appreciated if a one-solution power source isn't available.

Cioks makes one that will do it. They are also coming out with a Factor power supply that will power up to 3 at a time, if I remember correctly.

Check out the Eventide site for more information

Tracked it down...

Cioks DC10 is talked about on the Eventide forums also.
Cioks - POWER SUPPLIES FOR EFFECT PEDALS

And is sold in the U.S. here... http://www.guitareffectspedals.com/cioks.html

"Looks" viable. Am I a $200 test dummy?

Eventide is releasing a Powerfactor pedal soon that can power up to 3 factor pedals and has isolated 9v outputs to power other pedals. Will fit under a pedal train too.

Hmmm, ok. That's good news also. I'm in no real crush time-wise for the pedalboard to be wired up, and if needed I can use Wall Warts.

Good that some companies are finally recognizing and addressing the 'big boxes' power issues from Eventide and TC.

That Eventide power supply will be made by Cioks. My guess is that it is a rebranded DC10.

I use a power supply called THEGIGRIG Generator. That thing can power anything you need. It's a bit on the expensive side, as you need to buy a special adapter for the eventide factors, but it's noise free and will give you all the juice you might need.

Really good quality and totally recommended

I'm pretty sure the new Eventide power supply will be a rebranded Cioks DC10. I bought one awhile ago from the Eventide online store as a Cioks DC10. It works great with my 3 Factor pedals plus an additional 4 - 9v 100ma pedals.

Excellent. Now I'll just have to plan the fate of the underside of my pedaltrain mini to harbor a DC10 aka PowerFactor.

oh wow- guess im wrong. that new ciok deal looks perfect. i could definitely use that some day.

with 2 L brackets and 4 screws from home depot and a furman plug lock 5 ac strip and a 1spot or similar can power up to 4 ac pedals and the last one for the 1spot (and it mounts flush so you could also put a pedal over some spots if you just need 3 ac slots). its pretty cheap and works well, but im rather glad eventide has something like this coming out. ehx should follow suit on some of their funky voltage pedals. that i would also like.

The real power requirements for PitchFactor are a bit of mystery. Different people claim different things and the manual is different again. The Australian version comes with 9V 500mA supply, which I thought wouldn't be enough, but that's how it comes.

It runs OK although the wart gets quite warm. If ModFactor is similar than 2x500mA should do the trick. You should be able to get this much from some other pedalboard power supplies too.

My Modfactor pulls about 310mA when steady on.
