Question Powering this setup?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi there,

I've acquired a few pedals over the years now, and am looking for a tidier way power them, especially as one or two of the individual power supplies are starting to get pretty tempermental. I've done a search, so apologies if the answer has been provided elsewhere; I couldn't find it if it is. Basically, I want to power these using as few sockets and as little wiring as possible:

EHX Qtron+
EHX Bass Microsynth
EHX Memory Man Deluxe
US Big Muff (soon to be replaced w/ bass muff)
Moog Ring Mod
Line6 DL4
Digitech Hyperphaser
Dunlop BassWah
Boss Line Selector

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Man, that one's a toughie.

Let's take a look at your pedals:
The good news is that the Big Muff, Digitech, Dunlop and Boss pedals can be daisy chained together. In fact, you can run a daisy chain from the straight from the Line Selector to power the other three pedals. That's the easy part.

Now the EHX pedals are a different story. They have some funky power requirements. I think you could run the Q-tron+ and the Memory Man both from a Voodoo Power Pedal Power Plus II brick. It would take up four spots, as each pedal would require two sockets from the PP2. It would also power the Line 6 with sockets. But I don't know if the Bass Micro Synth can be powered by the PP2 or not. I'm sure others can chime in.

I know very little about Moog stuff. According to their website, they don't recommend using anything but the Moog adapter. But according to the One Spot website, you could use one of their's. The whole thing is quite sordid!

If you haven't already, check out these sites:

And good luck!

Stewie, you're judgmentally quoting bible verses and you don't even know how to read!

Cheers for the reply, some really useful advice! Yeah, the EHX pedals are the ones that make it a bit problematic but I think it's worth it for the full-on freak out noises they produce, especially the micro-synth!

Having looked around it seems difficult to power multiple EHX and Moog effects, mainly due to their high power consumption. I think the best bet here may be to daisy chain the more straightforward ones, like you suggest, and power the EHX and Moog pedals individually, perhaps with the assistance of the Pedal Power or something similar.

Thanks for the links also.
