Powering Source Audio Pro Pedal

Sign in to disble this ad
Do you all think I can power a soundblox pro multiwave distortion from a BOSS BCB-60 Pedal Board?
BOSS U.S. - BCB-60: Pedal Board

It has a Onboard 1,000mA AC adaptor for powering up to 7 devices, but it does use a daisy chain cable.

All my otther pedals are std BOSS style power.

Thew MWD manual says to use only the power supply that came with the unit, however it looks to me like a BOSS style power connector.
Thanks!!

What are the power requirements for the pedal? And polarity? Usually, if a device comes with it's own adapter, there's a good reason.

I run my MWBD(pro) off a One spot daisy chain, along with a tuner, octave, and flanger pedal with no problems, although the 0ne spot is 1700 Mahs

its center negative like boss. But the warning in the manual made me want to check with others to see how they power them. Right now I run the factory SA PS seperate but its one extra thing to set up at gig and takes up a lot of room on my power strip
9v i will check the amps needed
thx

here is 2what the manual says
9V DC
Connect the included 9 Volt DC power supply here. Use of a non-Source
Audio power supply may cause damage and void the warranty.

so long as the voltage, polarity, and mA's are matched, (or exceeded), you should be good to go.

Incorrect voltage or polarity are the only things that might hurt the pedal. Not enough amperage will only make the pedal function poorly, or not at all. It won't damage it.

We get pedals back sometime which look like they were plugged into 400V DC!!

9 Volt negative tip (boss style) with at least 100ma will usually do the trick. We have tried many pedalboard supplies, and they all seem to work.

Sometimes random power supplies can be noisy. We recommend ours, because we know it will have few noise issues.

What's the official SA word on switchmode power like 1Spot?

Also, slightly OT, but I picked up a Nady Wireless One that says 12v DC on the unit, but its getting powered with a 9v DC adaptor. Would this cause problems?
The unit distorts if I turn up the EQ on my 18v OBP-3, but that could be because the sensitivity trim pot doesn't work.
