Practice Headphone setup suggestion sought

I've got a Line 6 bass pod and some nice headphones; I also have a headphone mixer. What's the best way to hook these up to my laptop to practice along with CD's, MP3s and metronome?

i run my bass into a cheap $40 mixer then connect my macbook's headphone out jack to the aux in on the mixer and plug my headphones in to the mixer's headphone jack. works great. i would rather just bypass having to run audio in to your computer... so with your set up... i would go

bass> pod > mixer < computer
V
headphones

I run my Power Mac 1/8 line out into the Fodera headphone amp's RCA's. I have a metronome program too. If I want to use a separate metronome (which I do on occasion) I just plug the metro in rather than the Mac. The bass plugs into the headphone amp.

I actually put it all into Pelican case with the foam. it's a neat and tidy set up. I have an external drive under the Mac for my BFD samples and a small surge protector. It's what I take with me to work when I go on duty (overnight).

Why didn't anyone ever tell me bossa nova sounded so good?

Just hook your bass up to your Pod, then your Pod to your computer. Use the line out of the Pod for headphones (or if there's a headphone jack, use that). Then open up the Gearbox program on your computer. I used to do this all the time when I had a Pod XT Live. With the Gearbox, you can edit patches much easier, and it's got a built in metronome as well as a music player, so you can play along with songs.
