Preamp/Amp volume settings

I'm going to be using my old SWR solid-state head for a show this weekend (other head is in the shop), and I'm using an Xotic RC Booster at the end of my board to make it sound a little less flabby. My question is, should I set the RC and SWR at unity volume, or should I set the amp's volume lower and crank the RC's level? I've been setting the SWR's volume fairly low and the RC fairly high, but I'm not sure if that's the best way to go. Not sure if this post belongs in effects or amps, so I went with effects. Thanks guys!

The only deciding factor is what sounds best to you. There is literally no other consideration.
