I actually find my Amplitube/ iPad even better regarding tone also when connected directly into the PA, but the BDDI is a "real" preamp with both XLR and 1/4" connections, including phantom power and ground lift. |

I have owned the Bassbone and the eq can only be fully applied to one channel and a lack of any drive or grit was disappointing for me, however the DI was excellent. |

Surely the question doesn't take into account the music styles, the amps used, the bass used etc.
It's like asking:
"Which bass to use?
Sadowsky Jazz
Fender P
Ken Smith 6
Warwick Thumb
Conklin GT7
Squire Jazz"
With no other info.
:/

| | | | I've got both the Sansamp Bass Driver and the Aguilar Tone Hammer.
I haven't used the Sansamp since I got the Tone Hammer. I love that thing!!!! |

| | | | Alembic SF-2 I'm using an Alembic SF-2, which is a filter, not really a pre, but it sure is a lot of fun. |
