Guys, i tried doing a search, but not exactly finding what i wanted.
I am really into tapping and playing by myself (har har). I am going to get a Sansamp Pedal as well as a Looper. But another thing i was interested in getting to start a pedal board was something that i could use to make a very mellow, pretty tone. Something that can give off a soothing sound when i play the high end melody.
Could you offer some suggestions of effects, as well as company's who make the pedal well? |

If you happen to run across a Lexicon LXP1, it had a really cool effect that was a reverb combined with the harmonic resonances inside a piano. |

Any ideas? | If your thinking of the small Boss sized version, then that's the Echo Park. But the large, 4 switch green delay pedal is the DL-4. I just got mine for Christmas... the awesomeness, you have no idea. I love it. I'm not great with reviews and such, but I'm telling you, if you want it in a delay, this pedal has it.
I also toss a +1 towards Bongo. A chorus is a great idea for this stuff. Give us a price range and we'll set you onward in that search.

DD-3 for delay
CEB-3 for chorus
Heck throw a flanger or a phaser in there too. BF-3 from Boss or Phase 90 from MXR/Dunlop.
Can you get em all for $200? |

If you want a really good Chorus (IMO), the TC Electronic SCF is a great sounding box...but a used one will cost you around $200.

| | | | My thoughts when I think of shimmer would be a nice chorus and either delay or reverb. Since you are getting a discount on boss and line6, here are my suggestions...
Boss CE-5 Chorus
Boss DD-3 or DD-6 for more features
Line 6 Echo Park
Line 6 Verbzilla
I have not had any problems with my Boss DD-5 adding noise, or my Line6 Echo Park adding noise as long as it had its own power supply. |

Basically, you could set the delay to anything and then apply modulation on that.
If you set the delay to about 70 millisecons(chourus is usually about 20), it had a
beautiful sound. Effectron is also a company that made delay lines where you could modulate the signal. If you can find a chorus that will do up to 100 milliseconds, you will get a super effect. Great for tapping etc. The Line 6 DL4 will do this. I have one and it sounds great and does rudimentary looping as well. Lexicon boxes also do this sort of thing as was mentioned earlier. |

It eats batteries though, I use a power supply.

IMO it sounds like you're looking for a chorus, though. |

It sounds good, and you have SO many delay options, digital, analog, both with modulation options, sweep delay, ping-pong delay, reverse delay, etc, etc. All that on top of a loop feature, an option out for an expression pedal, and an on-board tap-tempo feature. Its great. Overkill from some, but if you can see yourself using it, go for it. For more simple delays, I certainly recommend any of the Boss DD series.
If by $200 you mean for each individual pedal, try the EHX Clone Theory, for delay. Runs a little over $100 I think, and it sounds good, very shimmery and lush. If you want to stick to those companies you listed, Boss certainly makes a good chorus pedal as well (and some of my favorite flangers...)
