Price for Boss GT-10B

I was wondering if I should get a Boss GT-10B, so I looked around and found that they are quite expensive! Do you think a quote I got of $419.00 is a good deal?

For a new one? Yeah that's $80 less then normal. I'd look around if it was used.

It's new. Can I just plug it into my computer while I play to have it record? Thanks for your input

That's a good price, but only if you like the sound. A bargain on something you don't like is wasted money.

I haven't tested it out, but I really love the loop feature from what I've seen on youtube, and I don't own any pedals or effects besides what are already on my Roland Micro Cube 4x4.

Btw, I looked around for the cheapest online, then went to RMC Audio's web site and noticed that they said they would beat any price. I then told them about one I found on Amazon for 459.99 and they gave me that quote in return . I am trying to see if I can get an even better deal, but if it is truly worth it and it seems to be living up to everyone's expectations, I will probably splurge and buy it.

I own a GT-10b, and it all depends what you want/ expect from it.

one thing I can say is that the distortion/grit/grind on this pedal is cold as ice. somehow it works pretty good for guitar ( guitarist forgot his board home when we went to the studio... long story short - he now considers buying a GT10B ^^ )

all the other effects are great! - just don't use the presets - I think those guys at roland/boss smoked something funny before setting those presets.

as for using it as a recording device - if you use it with cubase or such - you can actually use the board as an external soundcard - meaning direct digital signal all the way to the recording program, which is pretty sweet. using it with pro tools - you can always use the spdif link for same effect ( shows up as another input next to all the other channels)

personally I've paired it with a VT bass pedal from Sansamp - I now have the sweet sound of grit/grind from the VT and can add whatever from the GT-10B.

just bear in mind that this board is BIG! with the flightcase I ordered it with, it weighs half of what my cab weighs - granted I've got a light cab but still... and when you set it up on stage - make sure you don't block your self in... did that a couple of gigs ago - had around 2-3 square feet, which is not enough when you jump around like nuts.

also - there is no drivers out for windows 7 yet

I bought one a while back I think I also paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $419 new from some eBay seller. I tried to get a used one, but they don't show up too often. However, there are been at least two show up in the classifieds on this site in the last month or so, and I don't remember them ever selling. Do a search, and see what you come up with.

As for me, I liked the board, but it was way more than I'd ever use, so I traded it plus some cash for a GB Shuttle 6.0.
