ProAudioStar pedal board deal...thoughts?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with Pro Audio Star. They'll all over ebay but seem to have quite a bit of lousy feedback (granted they move a lot of gear, and have quite a bit of good feedback as well)...and much of it isn't your run-of-the-mill negative feedback, either. People complain about repeatedly being sent "new" gear that isn't really new, really bad customer service, rude staff, refunds not being applied for upwards of a month etc.

Well, I'm in the market for a new pedalboard and came across a bundle they offer from their actual website...Pedaltrain 2 PT/2-SC w/ Soft Case + Lava Solder Free Cable Kit + BBE Supa-Charger

Now, that's a hell of nice price. Particularly considering that I was already interested in the PT-2 and the BBE...the Lava's are cool and go for $90 and are basically thrown in for free. I'm thinking about just placing the order but wanted to hear any possible experiences TB'ers may have had with the company.

Thanks.

I bought a couple of mics from them last year, and had a smooth experience. I was buying a pair of Beyerdynamic m160s. I ended up picking them both up for $500 each brand new. I'd originally purchased b-stock from them, but before they put them in the mail, they contacted me and said they could upgrade me to brand new mics for $20/mic. Sweetwater had them for $699 at the time, I think.

I have no complaints with them at all.

I have returned pedals to them twice, and both times they sent the refund in a fairly short time. Their communication can sound a bit rough, being Noo Yawkers, but they did right by me. I would just say you should go into their auctions knowing they move a lot of B-stock, and they haven't examined or tested the items, so you may sometimes need to take advantage of their returns policy.
