Yeah, the Unpleasant Surprise pretty much kills all the low-end, but blending that thing is really fun, such a great sounding fuzz, and the variable gate (onset knob) is just too cool.
The Divided Octave graphic is based off this, a digital schematic of the known universe. Each dot of light is a galaxy, each cluster of lights is a galactic cluster (like a faraway view of Milky Way, Andromeda, Pegasus, etc...)... so yeah... the universe is kinda big...
As far as the pedal goes, please note the following:
This design is an etch waiting to happen.
This is an inkjet printout on standard printer paper, folded to encompass the pedal.
All the gray that you see will really be black when finished.
All the white that you see will be polished aluminum when finished.
I may special paint all the black areas to simulate cosmic debris (nebulas and such...)
I flipped the graphic to mirror the top side so as to simulate looking at the same spot from 5 difference angles. Not perfect, but it simulates...
I'll post the etch results when I do it, probably in a few weeks... still waiting on another pedal first so I can etch a batch of them at once.

Nice board DB.
Some seriously cool pedals on board!
Have you messed around with the CV control on the Randys?
There are crazy looking options for control on that beast.

There are crazy looking options for control on that beast. | I love messing with the carrier frequency using the CV/Exp in, I did try the CV out on it and running the RR as a tremolo to get it to output a LFO, this was pretty quirky and less than ideal. It worked but it wasn't pushing the range on my other pedals far enough. My 2 pedals that have CV ins don't offer any technical info on what the voltage range is so it could have just been a mismatch.
I'm curious if anyone else is using the CV out on the RR and how they are doing it. Lemmeno!

I'm etching the Submarine Designer too, finally settled on a design for that as well. I just have to get myself to a laser printer and I'm ready to go, though that may be a few weeks. Quote:

If I pull it off, the etched effect should be pretty awesome. Still deciding how I want to accentuate the black.... maybe mix of dark blue sparkly paint or something, I don't know...

The Dark Driving and B3K are about as different as you can get with OD and provide a couple nice textures. They can be swapped out for a ss/bs Mountain Range and/or Mini as needed for different sounds.
Here's a shot of the temporary state my large board is in for some signal chain testing while I build some risers and wait for a few missing pieces.
Signal flow as shown is T1M buffer -> Cubic -> Unpleasant Surprise -> TAFM -> Bugcrusher -> Polytope -> Xero Deluxe -> μThumpinator -> Timeline -> Stereo WET
The Cubic seems to be getting the nod so it'll move up on to the main board, and the DMC and a second Expressionator will live to the right on a riser where the Cubic is now. The space on the bottom right will be a remote switch for the Bugcrusher tucked away in the back and a JHV3 Multi Tap Pro.
A JHV3 modded M5 and the Multi Tap Pro are on the way and I am looking at using the remaining space for others currently off to the side though I am trying to leave space next to the Timeline for a Strymon Mobius
Power supply will all go underneath, as will the μThumpinator, buffer and anything else like that (there's already a PP Digital under there for the Timeline, incoming M5 and a few other high current users). The box beside the Bugcrusher will be a breakout box for expression and volume pedals as well as the main input to the board (most likely). I also plan to make a 1590A expression controller for the WET to switch between settings. |

The oscillations blend with the fuzz so well and rarely overpower it they just texture it, and the way they bleed into the signal during rests is really nice. Most settings give you a little range of the adjust knob that don't oscillate so with an expression pedal you can get rests that are quiet if needed. Very fun and unlike anything I know of.
