Here it is ladies and gents. ALL DONE!!!! The ONLY change that might happen is new patch cables. I get too much noise from the george l's. Anyone else find them noisy/unreliable? Thinking about getting lavas...input would be great

and the little guy...for now

Respectfully, my suggestion is to learn to solder and get this kit...rather less expensive in the long run and a better connection.

This is exactly what I need to do. Is it hard to learn how to solder?

+1 to the GLS kit. Great quality, fair price and very slim pancake connectors so you can fit more on your board. These are easy to solder and there are a lot of good tutorials on the web to teach you. Just practice before you actually start soldering the cables.

Nope! Soldering gets better with practice though! (like just about everything else)

Even though I solder something every week & trust my connections - in my experience if you assemble a solderless plug with equal care (just dont slap it together) it's just as reliable! I've been using George L's on my pedalboards for about 15 years now with no problems. And my gear doesn't get "babied"- I've been touring in vans, busses, planes, ferries, trains and trucks this whole time on 4 continents.

I don't like George L for bass to board and board to amp runs (its just too thin for that), but for hard installs, it's great and reliable! George L's cable capicitance is super low to boot.

I made a tutorial on how I assemble them, theres a few key points that make a big difference!

I dont have as much experience with Lava, but they work great too!

I approve of this board.

More importantly, I approve of the Celebration Ale.

Both look tasty.

Thanks for the advice guys!! Being as much of the insomniac/complusive buyer/impatient I am, I bought the lava cables last night. I feel like the lava design is just solid. A little hard to make but solid. I have high hopes for these. If all else fails, I'll be learning how to solder!

Nice!

What's the Expressionator controlling? Mobius, Timeline and Space?

I was going to say skip the Lava Solderless, but it looks like you already bought them. I had too many of them going out of service and it happened on a gig, so I took them all off. Interested in the new soldered version, but need more feedback on them.

I have been meaning to post in here all day, awesome board falconspatriots. I love that it keeps coming up as people quote it even though I normally hate that. It's that good.

Jean, any chance of seeing your current dual-Mobius board?!

Nice. Temporary downsizing or are you rolling with a smaller setup for a while?

I was having a heck of a time getting the Lava cables together with the Lava video. Then I found a good video on the GigRig site that really had some great info on getting the Lava cables together. Still, they are very expensive for cables you have to assemble yourself! The cable isn't expensive, the solderless ends are.

It was a one of session. They were the pedals I needed to play the single tune we were doing!

Thanks man!!

Yea I'm using it to control those 3. I can use the expression wheel on the DMC but I got that before I made the final moves on the board so the wheel is in a weird spot.

I HATE soldering!! So I'm trying to avoid it at all cost. I'll see how these lavas are. If they don't I guess I'll man up and learn how to properly solder. With my pedal needs having been met, I'll have alot more money!!!

That right there is one reason I spent money on a decent soldering iron, rather than a solderless kit (give a man a fish vs teaching him to fish etc).

Also, I found a vid that shows how to work with the Hosa flatheads specifically...in a roundabout way. He does have a couple of good suggestions for the actual soldered connections, tho.
