Quality expression pedal for BSY600?

I recently added a behringer bsy600 to my pedalboard and I'm really digging the sounds so far. I'd like to hook up an expression pedal but would prefer something other than the one behringer makes. Anybody using something sturdy like an Ernie Ball pedal with this unit?

There are better, but I've had good luck with the Moog

Cool. That moog pedal doesn't require a battery, correct?

Skrogh 11-09-2012 02:46 PM

Correct.
It's a nicely build, cheap expression pedal. There are some nuts/bolts that might need some fastening from time to time to keep the right friction, but that's quite fine with me. It means I can make it as loose or stiff as i prefer.

Roland EV-5? It seems to be the standard.

I like the nut-bolt part, you can tighten the resistance.

I think the EV-5 in a low profile (height) and about the same. Check the classified for these. If you want a really nice one get the Source Audio, there's one here for $60

It's like a cry baby, metal and tough and DUAL

Thanks for the suggestions. What's the benefit of a dual expression pedal? Does that just mean it takes a trs plug or can you control two units off one pedal?

Skrogh 11-09-2012 05:07 PM

It (usually, and in the case of source audio) means that you can control two pedals at the same time yes.
I find it quite useful (I've moded my EP-2 to have two outputs), but I'd rather have two expression pedals I think...

Yamaha FC-7 works well, needs no batteries, and is inexpensive.

I originally bought the Behringer volume/expression pedal and it was a hopeless POS with a dead spot right in the middle of the range and it needed a 12V power supply.

Too bad; a volume pedal would be useful, but the Yamaha is simpler and comes from a company with a better reputation.

yea, it could get tricky if rhe 2 pedal are on and you only wanted expeession control on 1. But it's a solid pedal and compatable with SA pedals if you ended up with 1.

The M-AUDIO EX-P pedal doesn't require anything with the BSY 600 and it is affordable (well, almost the price of the Behringer unit). One thing I found out with the BSY 600 is when I was sweeping faster on some settings, the pedal lost tracking completely. This has to do more with the Behringer unit I think. So you might want to try it out before buying.

i use a Proel PVP-16L to control my Boss AW-3.

Cheap, bought it used for $15, works like it should be

A QUALITY expression pedal is the Boss FV-500H (built like a tank, adjustable sweep and adjustable feel) made of a thick aluminum slab and works great. I use one with a BSY-600 and a EHX HOG
