Questions about the IE Polytope

I've been looking to get a nice pedal this christmas, and I wanted to get something a bit strange. I wasn't sure what to get, until I found out about the Polytope.

All I know is that it can create up to four pitch-shifted copies of your input signal. That's insane, the amount of stuff you could do with that is staggering. So, what I'm wondering is, could any of you tell me some specific, useful things the pedal can be used for, or maybe provide some recordings other than the Excane one, which seems to focus on the strange, spacey sounds it can make rather than anything usable.

Also, I'm curious, can the pedal be used just as a detuner?

Thanks!

Totally amazing pedal. It is a detuner. You can definitely use it for more subtle sounds. This demo is for guitar but gives a really nice idea of its "less extreme" capabilities.
