Hoping this thread delivers. |

| | | | Wow this is great! I could google it, but I just ask you: How does the true bypass work? |

Yes, it melts at a higher temp than the old reliable 40/60 lead-tin solder. If you have an old fixed-temp iron, it might be time to buy a newer adjustable one.

This would be what I was thinking for a true bypass for a rehousing. The problem with the doing this type of bypass to the BSY600 is that if you power the pedal up and it is not automatically on the bypass switch will not activate the pedal. I can imagine that a small reset button would help, however I am pretty sure there could be a better solution, and I am positive it has already been worked out somewhere . Anyone wishing to chime in at this point would be useful.
However, http://www.beavisaudio.com/techpages...cker/index.htm ,
is probably more along the lines of what DeltaPhoenix was talking about.

Enclosed jacks, standard 16mm alpha pots, soft click switch (all panel mounted of course). I could care less about true bypass.
Guts in due time!

| | | | Didn't read the whole thread, so a possibly dumb question...does this eliminate the "hold" function?

By the way Dan, thanks for breathing life into this thread. |

| | Knob Wrangler | | Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: TN | | | The pots had to be removed and replaced - the ones that were board mounted had no set screw, thus rehousing this pedal was basically pointless unless they were removed and replaced. They are ALL 50K pots. The jacks were just as difficult to remove as the potentiometers (which were actually harder because the contacts are so insanely close together) but the biggest problem is the solder which has to be heated very thoroughly and doesn't like to be nice. Proper desoldering equipment is necessary.
Etching? Well, of course!
