I received my upgraded Analogman Bi-Comprossor yesterday and have to echo our brother Bongo’s comments. Whereas before I could never engage both sides at once unless I was applying a high-gain, overdriven tone, now the situation is much improved. The OS side works lovely with my G&L – a bass famous for overloading just about every pedal you run it through. Since the Bi-Comp can take on a hefty 18V without issue, it complements the G&L quite nicely. As for the Ross side, its signature mids shine acceptionally well with the AE Taylor AB1. Super punchy with a thick emphasis in the midrange that us finger-stylers really dig.
The Rev4 upgrade really enhanced everything I liked about both sides before while knocking down the noise significantly. If you have an older version, you still have a killer tool to work with, but I recommend getting the $100 upgrade if it’s in your toy budget.
And that’s my two cents… Thanks again, Mike! http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/analogman.shtml
