Roland AP-2 - I dig it. A six stage FET based phaser. It doesn't clip with active basses like script circuit phasers tend to, probably because it's 18V. Very glassy and resonant. As a straight phaser I like it more than the AP-7 (the eight stage Jet Phase) though not as versatile. I don't remember the bypass being horrid, but IIRC it wasn't good.

Don't know if it will still happen (dates keep getting pushed back) but the custom phaser Mario is/was going to build for me would use this circuit as a starting point. I wanted to base it on the Mutron Phasor II, but I was certainly fine with using the Roland.

Sorry to dig up an old thread...but are these worth much? I've found one for £130 (about $210) but this seems pretty steep to me. I've heard good things about the pedals and they obviously have alot of mojo but I'm not convinced about the price .

Yeah, I wouldn't pay that much for one. I found one in absolutely pristine condition (even the original box looked new) and the asking prices was only $185. A beaten up one can usually be found for $125 or less.

Find a phase 5 and you're set. Coolest phaser out there...the dynamics of your playing controls the speed of the LFO.

ramp up/down by touch.
