Roland VB-99 question

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi. I've owned a Roland VB-99 for about 2 years now. It's by far my favorite piece of equipment I've ever owned. I learn new things about it every time I sit down with it. I highly recommend one.

Recently I've started messing around with the bass to midi. This is a whole new world to me. I've strung a bass with piccolo strings and try to play some parts through a keyboard. For a normal bass tone, I have a patch with the octave down that i play through my bass cab.

Sometimes I play the parts together and sometime separate. When I play them separate, I don't know how to turn the midi off. I can easily turn the bass off with the volume control. But I'm stumped on how to turn the midi off. I'd like to turn the midi off in one patch and on in another. But whatever I set the midi switch to, on or off, it stays that way in every patch. Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

The bass to MIDI is not assignable to a controler , sadly.
It's one of the few things it CAN'T do.

What you can do though is assign a controller to your Synth volume and open/close it when needed.

If you have the FC300 with your VB99 , you can switch it to "CC mode" and have 10 controllers at your feet.
You can assign it to your S1/S2 or GK volume if you don't want to add anything else (and if they aren't already used)
