Routing question

Sign in to disble this ad
I feel stupid for asking since it seems like it would be a pretty obvious thing.

Okay. Here's what I want to try and do. I have a Line 6 DL4 that I use mostly for phrase looping. Now sometimes I would like to have it placed at the front or my effects chain (so I can use different effects to alter the looped 'dry' signal) and sometimes it would be better placed at the end (so that I can change effects of the 'live' bass without altering the effected looped phrase.)

So...

Do any of y'all know of a cheap footswitch-type thing (at least cheaper than a second DL4) that would allow me to to A/B between two different router settings?

Sorta like this:

(Sorry if this has already been covered. I did a search and wasn't able to find anything although my choice in keywords may not have been sufficient.)

Check out this thread, where a similar question was asked:
Help: Line Selectors, but Kinda Not...

In order to set up a box like in your drawing, I think it would take a six-pole switch, or a combination of a switch and a relay. The circuit is very simple if you don't need the LED indicators, utilizing a common 4 pole double throw switch. Of course it would be kind of a drag to not have a visual cue the LEDs provide. I would want at least one LED if using a stomp switch..

Thanks for the response and link to the other thread.

Weird that there doesn't seem to be a commercially available "off the rack" option for this. Seems simple enough and I can think of quite a few situations where it would be useful (rerouting items in the same chain, using a single item for multiple setups, etc.)
