Running effects "send and receive"?

Is it better to run effects through the amp's effects send and receive or the traditional way of between the bass and amp?

Usually best straight into the amps input, as the amps loop is designed for line level effects, which most stomps aren't. But it won't hurt to try, who knows, you may like it better.

ive never bothered with using the effects loop (except for using the "effect out" to go into the input of amp2, and things like that)

never needed to try, really.

+1 - try it you may like it! Even with the send/receive option of my amp I run mine straight in.
