Running Fuzz/Distortion Effects into Sansamp (or tube amp?)

Sign in to disble this ad
I have my Sansamp on a pretty clean, warm setting (similar to the SVT setting in the manual) and I always used to turn it off when I ran my fuzz effects as I figured it would sound horrible like distortion in series generally does.

However I accidentally switched them both on at the same time the other day and it sounded incredible, so much fatter than just fuzz did!

I was just wondering if this a common thing to do? Do you generally just leave the Sansamp on and run effects into it? Could you do the same with a tube amp as well? ie heavy fuzz into warm tube tone?

Cheers

I used to run Fuzz> Sansamp> Tube amp. It was heavy.

Sounds like it would be

Did you not have any trouble with loss of definition, hissing or anything?

I run my supercollider into my tube amp, and I love it.

My main rig for live work is Sansamp last - everything else into it.
That's Fuzz, OD, wah and all other effects.
Never a worry.

If ever it is - use the blend feature.

I would run Fuzz>Tube amp, but not the sansamp. To much noise for my tastes.
