Samcom C-com Opti vs BBE Optp Stomp

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi , I'm new to the FX thing on bass . .. I was the kind of puritane that always thought that fx in a bass was a blasphemy ... well I just got a Hartke VXl Bass Attack pre and the harmonics and effects mix convinced me I was wrong and that I got a good deal when I bought it . . . well, the thing now is that I want a compresor . . right now a Samson C-com opti it's on the way and maybe I'll get it in this days, the description says that is good for instruments and vocals . . . but I took the risk to check it out if will work as i want, Bongomania hasn't review it yet so that's why I'm asking if someone has test it, in the other hand I has hear a lot of good things of the opto stomp by BBE . . so any idea if the BBE could be a better way to for compression than the samson? cheers!

P.S. heres is the link to the samson site : http://www.samsontech.com/products/p...fm?prodID=1653

Ive heard great things about the BBE, and their releasing a bass version sometime in the near future. I havnt tried the samcom, but also check out the demeter compulator and maybe the EBS multicomp.

Really? Have any more info about this? I did a google search and couldn't find any announcements or press releases or anything like that.

edit: Also some of the few hits I got were saying the Opto-Stomp circuit came straight from BBE's bass preamp (the one TB always has banners for) so I'm not sure how necessary a bass version would even be.

Sorry I did a misstype the brand name is Samson, they are Hartke related i guess since all hartke products are announced under the samson domain site as you can see here: http://www.samsontech.com/products/b....cfm?brandID=3 so, that's the reason I wanted to test that compressor and haven't test the BBE since is hard to find in Mexico some brands so that's why I do want an opinion about these compressors so I know you guys are reliable and trusty
