so im pretty lost. i want to be able to sample stuff like movies/speech's/ect ect. live, but i dont know what will do it best, or really even what options there are out there. i know the boss rc-20 looper can, and from what i understand the korg kaoss pad does, and ive been looking into those for a while now. Anything else that could do it better? sorry for the lack of info, im just getting my feet wet when it comes to this. cheers |

If you want something really simple to just play one-shot samples you can trigger by stepping on a pedal, try the Digitech JamMan. You can load samples onto it from your computer. It has 99 memory slots with a total of 24 minutes sampling time which can be expanded to 6 hours very inexpensively. It can only handle mono samples, so be aware if this is a disadvantage for you.

| | | | a great old sampler is the ensoniq eps16+. It's easy to use, and can be had for a couple of hundred dollars (I've seen them as low 100.00)
I personally love the ensoniq mirage, but they are a pain to learn how to get stuff done.
They have analog filters..when I do vocal samples, that's what I use (I have 6 mirages!)
When I play out, I have a mirage rack and a boss DE-200, I can trigger a sample, then hold it in the boss, then freak it out. Super fun!!
Also there are a bunch of software samplers out there too...I'm just too much of a hardware fella to use them |
