So ever since I've come across this lovely site I've been searching for the mother of all tones clean wise and effects wise. So I spent countless hours reading reviews, watching demos, buying, selling, trading, modding and even making some pedals myself. I was at the bassfuzz.com site watching reviews and I found the Sanford and Sonny Bluebeard fuzz. It was magic to my ears. There wasn't alot of videos or reviews done on bass that I could find so I decided to order one after hearing the one demo of it. I didn't want just any pedal though, I wanted a unique one that would stand out from they rest and show off their great craftsmanship. I kept remembering Eyeballkid doing some amazing paintings and even having an expo so I contacted him about doing some art work on the pedal for me. The only thing I really wanted was something sinisterish and dark like Eddie from Iron Maiden. The end result is nothing but gorgeous. He sent me emails and pics of it the same week as Iron Maiden came to Tampa(what a coincidence). After it had Eyeballkid's stamp of approval he sent it back to have it put together. The detail and level of work in this pedal is nothing short of amazing. I haven't seen a cleaner homemade build yet. Every wire has its place and it says there. It came super well packed and shipped. I've been waiting so long and the time has finally come. It sounds nothing short if what I envisioned. Its got a great tone to it. Almost old school breakup, it doesn't sound digital at all like some digitech pedals and others. As with any fuzz or distortion there is some low end loss, but it is really minimal as it still shakes my house if need be. Im running sort of a pseudo stereo setup with 2 channels on my amp so the loss means nothing to me. My bass right now is an Ibanez EXB445 with the preamp from an ibanez sr1300 and it has no problems clipping the pedal with the active preamp. If you are looking for a old school down right rumble your pants loose fuzz, give Sanford and Sonny an email at Sanfordandsonny@gmail.com he will treat you right. I don't know if Eyeballkid is available to do anymore custom artwork, but rumor has it that Bluebeard fuzzes might start getting etching done. Anyways, here's some pics. Ill record a video after the 2 year old wakes up. |

Mine is #499 and the new ones will be getting special etching done as soon as he gets the perfect design for you guys. |

How would You compare it to other Fuzz pedals (Russian Big Muff, Bass Big Muff). I used the Russian Muff at one point and the Bass Muff. I liked the Russian Muff, but it seemed to take some of the gut's out of the low end. The bass-muff is okay, but didnt quite sound as good. This may be the way to go....
Oh' Yea congrats, and enjoy! |

| | | | Looks great. I had no idea eyeballkid did artwork. Bought my v4b from him. I would have major GAS for this pedal but lack of money on tour is preventing me from dropping the cash. Probably for the best...for now. |

| | | | Hope you don't mind, but I'll just piggy back on this thread instead of starting another Bluebeard thread. Just got mine today and I'm very, very happy. The tone and gain interaction is dialed in perfectly. Finally, a pedal that doesn't have the high end buzz before it growls. This pedal growls and growls more and then at the end of the gain range the high end raspiness kicks in. Awesome, awesome, awesome. |

as far as I understand, Sonny is gonna offer 3 enclosures in the future.. the standard blank, an etched one, and ones with custom artwork by yours truly... Im honored.
Glad you finally got your pedal and its all you hoped!.. believe me, its a keeper! ( turn that tone knob back and youll have low end in GOBS!)
Arthur.. TAKE GOOD CARE OF THAT V4B!! I MISS THE HELL OUT OF HER!
ps.. get a pic with the LED on!! I didnt get to see it with that and I think it kinda makes it! (sorry.. i had to ask)

I'm just always lurking/horsetrading in the classified and I don't google Bluebeard as much as I used to.
I have an FAQ for my website
The site has been ready to go for two years
but I will not launch the site until
I get the wait list down to zero
it's been consistently hovering at 90 but recently I've beat it back to 70.
Why make more people wait longer when there are so many good pedals to try.
Eyeballkid answer your phone!
