The Paradriver has more gain and on the other hand its input impedance is unusually high (4.7 Mohm) which makes it perfect for piezo equipped instruments such as acoustic guitars/bass guitars.
The mids are semi parametric, actually.
Fully parametric is when you can adjust the Q of the filter as well.

Although the BDDI is catered specifically towards bass, a lot of TB'ers like the Paradriver. Try both out and see which you prefer.

Can't tell you exactly why but I had the BDDI and now have the Para. Prefer the Paradriver because of it's versatility.

Maybe ill go with the paradriver as i could use it as a banjo DI too. I can't try them out as i dont think anyone here in Ireland stocks them. so was gonna purchase one off the net.

The Parametric Mids are THE way to go.
Much more versatile.

+1 ParaDriver. I rarely use the Bass Driver channel on my Landmark Head, as the mids are far too useful on the ParaDriver style channel.

More gain. and a parametric mid instead of the presence. Apparently you can set the mid freq to around 1kHz and it works like the BDDI, but Ive never had a BDDI to compare to. The one thing that may or may not piss you off is that the bass and trebz are after the gain section, but the mids are before it.

Thats prolly the ONLY thing that's kept me from buying one again. I like my mids after the drive. That way I can pump some low mids, and enhance, not increase the amount of drive. Anything below about 600-700 Hz adds volume IME, and backing the drive off is not the same as higher drive->eq.

As always YMMV
