Sans-amp (PDDI vs VT), Sonic Stomp, DI chain question I'm building a micro board to have in case I can't use my rig, which is becoming common. I have a standard full pedal board that I use for guitar and bass, but I dont need it for a couple of the bass gigs I have. So I was gonna make a micro board with just a tuner, Sonic Stomp, and sans amp. that way I can use it with my main board if needed, or just use it alone for smaller venues. Anyway. My questions are 1. I'm trying to decide between the Para-Driver DI or the Bass VT. I've owned both before in the past, and know their qualities. But I also need it for guitar this time around, so I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with that. 2. I have a DI box, but if i went with the PDDI, i'd have a DI. though I know youre supposed to run the sonic stomp after everything in your chain, i couldnt with the sans amp because i'd need its XLR out. Will a sonic stomp be defeated if i put it before the Sans Amp? or should I put it after and just use my other DI? thanks in advance folks. |
Imo, the Sonic Stomp is unnecessary. Better, would be a good eq pedal. As to the differences between the Sansamps, personal preference. |
The para driver is meant as a multi purpose preamp, whereas the VT is bass specific, not to say it wont work on guitar. If you get a VT bass again look for the version with the speaker sim defeat, I much preffered it to the original. I am currently using a Para driver & the para mids are a useful tone sculpting addition. |
