Hey I just got a Sans Amp bass driver and can't believe the monster sound out of my amp . This is the holy grail I don't want to turn it off. The problem is some one told me I can't get this sound out of the pa mains if I use this in front of my amp and I had to use the rack mount one and go into the effects return and I thought I could as long as I use my xlr out on the back of my amp is this true? if so I am way bummed because I love the sound and I want this to go through the pa mains. |

You can't get that "combination" sound taking a cable from only one of the pieces. If the sound you love can be gotten from just the Sansamp and the preamp stage of your amp, taking the power section and the speaker cab out of the picture, then you can use the DI out on the back of your amp to send that combined Sansamp-preamp signal to the PA.
There are some other variations on this line of thought, such as using a particular type of DI box to take the power section output of your amp and sending that signal to the PA, but it may not sound quite the way you'd expect.

bass + Sansamp + amp's preamp = another sound
bass + Sansamp + amp + cab = yet another sound
They're all do-able and fine; pick which one you like. |

And yeah, whatever signal you send to the PA will get EQ'ed, compressed, and messed with by the soundman regardless. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
