SansAmp Acoustic DI - Stomp Switch

Sign in to disble this ad
I acquired a gently used SansAmp Acoustic DI earlier this evening. I'm happy with the purchase and can't wait to try it out.

One thing I noticed about the pedal was that the Acoustic DI doesn't have a "stomp switch" like the Para Driver DI. Just out of curiousity, is there a way to turn on and off the pedal without taking the battery off or unplugging the adapter?

By "turn on/off" I assume you mean bypass? There's no way to bypass this 'pedal': and removing the power source will literally turn it off which will result in no output signal.

If there's space I suppose you could drill a hole and route some wires to a switch, but I have no experience with this pedal, so I can't really say.

For what its worth, the sansamp bass & paradriver DIs that have footswitches don't turn the unit off, they just bypass the tone controls. In other words, it isn't true bypass but buffered bypass. However, the bypass sounds excellent imho

Put it in a true bypass loop, but then you lose the DI ability.

Thanks everyone for answering my question and the correction. I meant to say "bypass", but I guess the word slipped out of my mind.

I found out that the 'active' switch can be used to bypass the EQ.

Disengaging the he "active" switch turns the unit into a plain, regular, good sounding DI.

YES I just got a second one of them as they are discontinued and GREAT. Per the manual that you can see at Tech 21 website and per the manual in the box with my inits the active switch when pushed to the left makes the DI work as a trasparent DI bypassing the sansamp circtuit but still acting as a DI. Hope this helps.
