Can I get the ampeg B15 sound from a Sansamp Bassdriver DI into a solid state amp?

Check out the threads for the Sansamp VT Bass, some are calling them (the character series) the pedals of the future YMMV, but it does the B15's and '70s SVT magic beautifully. The Para Driver does a nice tubey sound but I wouldn't call it Fliptop sounding.

Also, look at the Catalinbread SFT, as it is specifically designed to get that sound.

I'm okay with "kinda sorta", personally - any suggestions on BDDI settings?

With the new VT Bass Deluxe coming out in the next 90 days you might wait and pick up a used VT Bass pedal on the cheap in the classifieds

I'm getting the feeling you have something against the VT. Is it the lack of a DI out?

rnilson or me? I have nothing against the VT - except that a.) I don't own one and b.) I'm not looking for the Ampeg tone enough to justify going to buy a VT, even used. I just wanted to know how close I could get with what I already have.

Hadn't realized there are pics and prices of the VT Bass Deluxe out there. At $240-270, I suspect I'll keep my regular VT Bass. I'm not saying that's a bad deal, I'm just saying it's a lot of money.

The only advantage I see in the Deluxe besides the DI out is switching between instruments and having two saved applications. I switch between EUB and BG so it will be good for me.

try the berhinger bdi21 Someone on here did a blind test and no one could tell the difference between it and the sans amp bddi. And they can be had for CHEAP. I have two one onthe board and one on my cheap crate combo I keep in my room. Makes that pile shound pretty good.

Simple answer? No. The BDDI isn't going to fool anyone into thinking it's a B-15.

eventually someone is gonna mention you can get the original VT modded to include a DI. So might as well say it now.

Stop saying things like that until I can afford one.
