hello, I have been looking to get some effects and new tones for my bass rig I have two different friends one selling the Sansamp Bass Driver DI the other selling the boss Me 50B. Both are roughly the same price but I'm just not sure which one would be more useful. what do you guys think ?

The ME 50B has a sansamp like setting called bass driver. It is a good all purpose multi..one of the best for beginners..
I own both of these units anyways..Sansamp will give you overdrive..but the ME50 will give you all kinds of things to experiment with plus the basic sansamp tones..
The Sansamp has a DI but if you are not gigging or recording you will not be using it...that said..i love the sansamp..

Dude buy both of them if they are a good deal! Hows that for help!

I've always used are had a sansamp DI. Adds a little or a lot of tube type of grit in front of a SS amp. I use a RBI now but still carry my bass driver with me at all times as a backup. I've played many practice sessions as well as small gigs with just the bass driver.

Go with the sansamp. It will give you much warmer tone.

Buy the ME 50B for a decent sampling of the different OD's, compressors, and effects. Then, decide what you like / need, buy dedicated pedals, and sell the ME. I went with a rack-mount SansAmp RPM / RBI and a Fulltone Choralflange...that's it.
