Sansamp BDDI, Programmable or not?!

Sign in to disble this ad
I am going to get a BDDI, but I don't know which one should I get, the programmable or not.
Because I heard someone said that the original BDDI sounds better than the P-BDDI, is it true?

Thanks

No, it should sound exactly the same.

Personally I wouldn't find much of a need for the programmable version; I just don't find it that versatile. I really do like the BDDI sound but if I have a three-channel preamp I want to be able to dial in more radical differences.

However, the programmable is only 10 bucks more. Unless you're concerned it would be physically too big, go for it. I can't justify upgrading from my original version, but I'd go with a programmable if I didn't have the original already.

i dont think/cant tell the difference between the single and prog. version... the RBI vs the floor pedals is another story though

EDIT: oops! the bddi also has an uneffected 1/4" out.. the prog. doesnt. but... they should sound the same.

As diechris mentioned, the single channel version has an un-effected out. For some setups, this is an important feature. However, the programmable version has its advantages too. It all depends on your needs. As for sound, they're the same.

I've owned both of them. They sound exactly the same.

The only advantages to the BDDI are size and the 1/4" unaffected out. If you don't need it (and not many do), then the Programmable BDDI is the way to go.

I've owned both and for some reason had more noise (hiss) issues with the programmable one, increasingly so as the drive was turned up, easily bad enough to need a noise gate. I suspect there's a good deal of inconsistency unit to unit.
