SansAmp BDDI setting fun!

Sign in to disble this ad
So I just returned one of the newer model Digitech Whammys that GC screwed me over on, and got a SansAmp BDDI and I love this thing! Makes me tone come alive!
So I was wondering, anyone got some cool settings that they use that they could suggest? Im in the mood to experiment!

I got one recently. Deceptively simple-looking. Sensetive controls. The 'Presence' knob seems to be quite instrumental for me, as I like a more clear, trebley biting sound.

I'm awaiting the arrival of a Line6 Bass Pod XT Live. I'm going to compare what each can do for my tone. I'm using a cheap Laney R4 300w bass combo, so I need all the preampage I can get to sort the tone out.

If you crank the drive and presence you can dial in a Geddy-esque sound.
Tell me what you find!

ATTACK
level - 9-12 o'clock
blend- full
Treble - 11-12
bass - 1-2
drive - 12-1
Presence - full

this is a really clean and bright tone with a touch of dirt that cuts through anything, really its just a variation on the SVT setting with the presence cranked.

i use it like this as my pre-amp with both my Jazz and Jaguar basses, but it sounded crap with my EB-3 copy

in the past ive favoured less treble but keeping the presence full, i prefer the sound of the presence to the sound of the treble

I really enjoy the Sansamp when I DON'T have the blend maxed out. I usually have it set at about 50%. Just something to try.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU FOR THIS SETTING!
The Pot sounds so much more "solid" now when I play it!
I was having fits trying to get my open D to be nice and solid.

Pretty darn close to what I use as well, except I keep the blend between 12-2. When I first got it I had the Blend maxed out all the time, now I like it toned down a bit more.
