Sansamp BDDI - is there anything im missing out?

Ive been using an mxr m80 for awhile now, and while im satisfied with it, im always wondering if a sansamp would be better for my applications.

I mainly use the m80 as a preamp, and a potential DI if the situation calls for it. Im mainly keeping it in my rig for the 'color' function, it has a really neat scooped sound which is great for slapping which i find hard to manually dial in with my geb-7.

Seems like many people pick m80 over the sansamp due to its lack of a 'mid' eq knob. But then again, I rarely use the M80 to EQ since I already hav an eq pedal.

The distortion, I try my best to stay away from it. Its too busy for my liking, and with the blend knob cranked all the low end is sucked out.

To cut it short, i mainly use the m80 for the color function, and as a potential DI. I rarely touch the eq and dist button. Is there anything im missing out?

paradriver DI has mid knob.
haven't used mxr, can not comment. sansamp has quite good tube emulation. you can dial-in quite mild values. guess it's best to try one and see if it fits your style.

If you're looking for a semi-transparent pedal, stick with the M80. The BDDI has its own sound that I didn't love. For my tastes they ranged from 'meh' to 'holy hell that is harsh'. It will do a number on your tone, whether you like that or not is up to you. I never liked the one I tried owned from day one, but I bought it anyway because it was a good price. I think that if you'll like it, you'll know pretty quick from playing it once.
