Sansamp DI - which one to get?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey,

I can't trace a similar thread to this one, so I hope that's OK

I've been wanting a Sansamp DI ever since trying one out 6 months ago. I tried the basic model, but now there's a 3-channel programmable version.

Prices aren't all that different hereabouts, so the programmable just looks like even more of a good thing from where I'm standing ... all the functionality of the basic model, but with 3 channels ... or does anyone know any different?

(The only downside I can see is that it's less compact, but as it'll still fit my gear bag that's not gonna be a problem).

All advice/comments welcomed!

Now there's a Deluxe version with FX loop and the VT Bass pedal. Your decision just got harder...

I already have a clean DI box so I want to get the VT Bass as it has more sounds in it plus a mids control.

Play around with the programmable to make sure you'd actually use the 3 channels... for me, it's a "dial in the sweet spot and quit" kind of pedal so I'm sticking with the ol' SABDDI.

I'm the same way. Though the paint is chipping off pretty badly from all my abuse. I guess i'll have to relabel it

I'm addicted to the sound of my SABDI but it is a bit noise ac wise. I've oned the 3 swich version but it too was ac noisy.

I know you'll say it isn't and check your gear but I have. Actually i've replaced each peice with all new and it still has a hum. Steinberger 5 string, GB Shuttle 3.0 and an avatar neo 410. Decent gear but...

Anyway I still love the sound.

Might be your cables? I've never had ANY sound problem with sansamp, and i use a in-ear monitoring system which reveals even hiss which cannot be heard by the audience...

Don't go for the 3 channel one, i find the single one much easier to use. I would use the VT Bass or the 3 band sansamp if i had to choose one.

A bit off topic, but...

Can anyone answer a quick question regarding "no ground lift" on the sansamp RBI. Is the ground permanently lifted on the RBI, so therefore no need to have one?

Thanks...
