Sansamp para driver question

Sign in to disble this ad
I hv 1 simple question. Can a para driver handle a low B string well for overdrive tone?

I primarily play a 5 string bass. I also play guitar at home for songwriting purposes. So i value the bass performance of the para driver more than the guitar side of it.

Yes. I had the pleasure of trying one of these out recently and was amazed by the amount of BASS this thing can produce. The bass contour is shelving so if you boost it, it boosts everything below the eq point as well.

Also, the mids are before the drive part of the circuit, so if you boost the mids too much in a low freq position you might want to lower the gain. It gets quite fuzzy.

Oh, and I tune 1 step down on a fiver and play with a lot of doom/dub-like tones. ADGCF and BASS knobs FTW.

I have one and don't notice any 5-string issues (running Rob Allen and Zons through it). I use it for a mid boost though with just a touch of grit.
