Sansamp Para-Driver OR Sansamp VT Deluxe?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm on the fence over these two pedals. I've had the RPM which is the rack version of the Para-Driver, and I've had the VT. I liked them both,,,but I'm building a rig in which one of these will be the sole preamp running straight into a power amp.

Which do you think would be the most versatile / best choice in your opinion???

hmmm...I dont know if it is any help, but I sold my VT Deluxe and just replaced it with the Paradriver. For me personally, I liked the VT...but found I am a one tone guy. I dont switch around too much. And I liked the paradriver a little better.

Why not use the both? Run the VT before your paradriver and use the PD as your DI. The you can use either/or/both/neither. As long as you use unity gain on all of them it will work fine. I've did this with a VT into a BDDI.

IMO, multiple tones are overrated. I can get plenty of versatility from the instrument already. I opted for the Paradriver. I also have a SABDDI. For jazz basses the paradriver sounds better IMO. For basses with more of a P vibe, I like the SABDDI a tad bit better.

If it wasn't for the lack of a DI, it's bulky size and weird power cord requirements, I think my SIB fatdrive would replace both my tech 21 pedals.

I like the line level switch and the mid frequency knob on the Para-Driver. But there was just "something" that I liked about the VT, I cant put my finger on it but just "something".

I'm torn between the two.

yeah, me too...I had a VT and had a great reviews about my tone, but something inside me wants to try a BDDI! I want a VT + good DI, but I don't need more than 1 sound, so Deluxe probably is not where I'm looking

FWIW I thought the control system on the VT deluxe was jumpy and amateurish. I like the VT, Para and BDDI just fine.
