A guy on my local CL wants to trade one for an RBI. Does anyone have any opinions on this unit? I imagine I could trade, then sell the PSA, buy another RBI and have a couple bucks left over, but I was more curious about this unit being applied to bass as opposed to an RBI.

Lots of people have used them AFA bassists go. I'd think if you're more about getting various tones that are easily accessible, then I'd go for the swap. Or if you're not much of a tweaker and don't like the whole MIDI + board thing, keep the RBI.
I'm not a "set it and forget it" kinda dude, so I'd do that but I keep my FX on my pedalboard nowadays instead of the rack.

Thanks. I think I'll keep the RBI.

He wanted to trade it even for an RBI. An RBI sells new for $329. The PSA-1 sells new for over $600.

My band opened for Taproot a week ago today and Phil used the PSA. Sounded great to me. I have the RBI and I am thinking about either trading towards the PSA (which is twice as much) or figuring out a way to utilize both while still giving the sound guy a single XLR to work with. The focused Lows on the RBI are amazing but its just one channel while the PSA seems to have a little more "character" in the mid range, midi switching for multiple settings, and the ability to add distortion to separate frequencies. For example you can dial in grit to the low end and the high end individually which is cool.

I'm meeting with the guy Sunday to check it out. I know nothing about the PSA, so I really have no clue what to look for, but I figure if it's in perfect condition and I end up not liking it, I should have no problem selling it for enough to buy a new RBI/RPM probably, eh?
