Wink Sansamp settings: Share your favorites?

Sign in to disble this ad
Got a Sansamp bass driver DI for Christmas. Besides the owners manual settings, I haven't had opportunity to experiment in a live band setting. I would be appreciative of any input from owners sharing their favorite settings for their style. (I play all genres, so I'm really interested in what you play and what defines YOUR sound). Could be as simple a format as 1 through 10 on each pot, Level, Blend, Treble, Bass, Drive, and Presence.
Thanks in advance!

I run it as a OD/dist box, so my settings are pretty much flat - 5 on bass/treble/presence, level matched to bypass volume, drive and blend on full.

I'll bite - keep in mind that this is the BDDI channel on a Landmark 300 head, but with the exception of the +10 dB input boost it's exactly the same.

I like an aggressive tone with plenty of mids, so this is how I run it:
Level - to taste
Blend - 10
Bass - 4
Treble - 3.5
Drive - 5
Presence - 8

level= 4.5 (to taste)
blend= 7-10 (depending on my hearing at the time)
bass= 6
trebble= 4.5
drive= 4
pressence=6

What about everyone else?

great thread! nice to see some real-time experience thrown in, rather than just using the manual.

wanted to bump this in case anyone else would like to add!

Has anyone got any suggestions for a full, rich fretless tone with the BDDI?

Mine's constantly on, placed after my effects loop and before my amp.

Level - usually around noon but varies
Bass - 11-noon
Treble - 11-noon
Presence - 11-1
Blend - noon in single amp setup, 5 in dual amp set up
Drive - 9-2 but usually noon.

Okay, I'm confused.

How can it be "after the effects loop but before the amp" if your effects loop is typically connected to the amp at the effects loop send/return patchbay?

Or do you really mean it's the last thing in the effects loop chain?

The latter. I should have specified, my FX run through a blend/loop pedal. So it goes Bass > Blender (FX signal/clean signal) > SansAmp > Amp.

Sorry to cause any confusion

Finally found my sweet spot:

Level - 12:30
Blend - 2:00
Treble - 12:30
Bass - 11:50
Drive - 12:00
Presence - 1:00

Fingerstyle on a Precision through an Ampeg combo with all EQ set to 12:00 and volume/tone rolled up.

Actually there's a ton of BDDI settings threads and most of them don't follow the manual, especially when it comes to having some of the knobs full on.
