Hello, I am looking at this as an option for an effects box, I own a GK Micro bass Amp. Will I need anything else to play the Bass Driver through the amp?
Thanks in advance.

The SansAmp is not an effect box, it's a preamp, which basically means is that it shapes your tone before it goes through the amp. The SansAmp will give your tone a more tube-like sound, which is nice when you use a solid state amp and want a little warmth in your sound.

As far as effects goes... well I've discovered by hanging around here that it is not as much as NEED issue as opposed to a WANT issue. There are a few threads about pedalboards and effect chains, so you can spend now until christmas finding out what TBers have, use and dislike.

Just a head's up: among the popular effects: fuzz/distortion/overdrive, compressors (not really an effect, but more a sound utility thing), enveloppe filters (wahs, Qs, etc), chorus, flangers, octavers.... it never ends

Thanks, I guess what I am looking for is a box that will give some color to my existing sound and a little distortion, would the VT Bass be a better choice?

The unit you have provides a little dirt, but a lot of TBers go for the VT Bass. Check out this link, it might help.

Used mine this weekend to add a little "warmth" and when my cab went out it made for a great back-up running it straight through p.a.! 1st time i have had to use it as back-up,sure glad i had it! its 2 tools in 1 box and sounds good if you have to use it as di. Ive also recorded with it. cool tool!

Usually just plug it in the signal chain between bass and GK 1001 RBII. Have used it in the effects loop as pre-amp, directly into PA a few times when I didn't want to carry an amp, and for recording, all with great results.

Only pedal I use, but would really like to give the VT a try.
