Sansamp Users!!! Old vs. New BDDIs any difference in sound

Sign in to disble this ad
I remember I bought a new sansamp a while back, I didnt like it, then I changed my rig around and figured I should give it another try and scored a older model BDDI. It sounded creamy. So , am I right in thinking the older ones sound better. Or have my tastes change.

Please let me know if you see any differences between the two, I know there was some talk of this a while back but I cant find it.

Thx -

The old ones only have instrument level not line level outputs. Did you have the new model (your old one) set to inst or line?

only if you dime the blend control. the key to this pedal is to keep the blend control set between 10-12 o'clock, plenty of mids . . .
i have an older model from the mid 90's and it sounds much different to my ears than a newer bddi.

Now, that wasn't hard, was it? I have the PBDDI. All my settings are blended with a good amount of clean bass.

Try the RPM. You can turn the blend all the way and it doesn't scoop the mids as much as the RBI and BBDI. Plus it has a sweepable mid which is very versatile. I use my RPM for bass and acoustic guitar. Works great!

I think they sound slightly different from each other. I have an older BDDI and before I bought it I borrowed newer one from friend of mine. Also the amount of volume boost may be a bit different. But BDDI scoops your sound anyway if you dime the blend.
I use two rigs and BDDI (always on) acts as a splitter: I use the parallel output for my Ampeg rig (plenty of mid growl, micīd live) and Sansamp for compressed-loudness-scooped-sound for my Trace Elliot rig and DI. The mix sounds quite nice
