Sansamp VT Deluxe Effects Loop

I'm looking to buy the VT deluxe soon.
I'm fairly new to effects and I had a few questions about the effects loop.

My plan would be to use two distortion pedals through the effects loop. Would the EQ and other settings of the VT pedal process the signal after it has been through the effects loop? Or after?

Nope! The effect loop is set after the vt circuit, which makes it usefull for delays and stuff, but pretty lame for distortion pedals.... But Mike Putnam here on the forum can mod the pedal to get the loop "pre-vt". He did it for me, works like a charm

I'm not 100% sure but I think the gain, character, and eq are pre effects loop. Just the level control is post loop. At least that is how it sounded to me when I used the effect loop on mine.

I have a programmable sansamp bdi, not deluxe, and prefer to have it plugged before the other dist I use.... I prefer to have the direct sound of my bass in the sansamp and send that trought my other distortions, sound way better IMO as I use boss kind of pedal with buffer in it and it change the sound of the sansamp IMO... But that way the bad thing is I would need an other di after If I would go straight to the house on stage...

If it works like Remsouille said that would be a nice thing for me... I would suggest to give it a try if it works for you...

I would run the distortions in front of the VT.

Using distortion pedals in the effects loop is not a good idea. The loop comes after the SansAmp circuitry.

If you are using the VT Bass Deluxe in conjunction with another bass amp and wish to use distortion effects (or any effects for that matter) without going through the SansAmp circuitry there is a workaround.

Plug into the pedal as you would normally do. Next run a cable from the parallel out to the input of the effect you want to use in the loop without the SansAmp circuitry. Then connect a cable from the output of the effect to the FX return of the VT Bass Deluxe (or Bass Driver Deluxe.) Now when you engage the FX loop of the pedal, you will bypass the SansAmp circuitry and only be using the FX in the loop.
