I'm looking for a pedal that can give me that overdriven bass sound at the beginning of this song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJdkg6uoLGE
and can also get close to this

I'm currently using a Fender Highway One P Bass and a SS Ashdown 15 inch combo...if there are any other pedals apart from the ones I've mentioned please tell me, but the maximum I'm willing to spend is 250€ (about 315$)

As far as I know the VT is the best for getting an Ampeg sound.

Seriously, try the VT Bass with your Ashdown. Be subtle with the knobs - less is more with this thing. Plus, the dude are letting it go now in the classsified section for less than 150.00 US. (I'm not one of them) - I'm learning that the slightest adjustment make a big difference, but I am playing it through an Ampeg.

I have the VT and the Hema, but I haven't tried the T-Rex, but the VT should pretty much do what you're looking for.

Oh yeah, great tone!

Easy P-sy with growly rounds like Rotos, tone on the bass wide open, picked hard, and a VT through a flat amp. Character I would guess between 10 and 11, drive around 10 or 11, mids and treble at noon, and bass a bit boosted, depending on your amp and cabs, of course.

It's about what I go for in our cover band when I don't use my SVT; and with the tone rolled off a bit, and played fingerstyle, the same settings give me a big, fat, punchy and warm second tone, to cover all the bases with out any fuss. With different LH placement and attack there is a whole lot of tonal variation on tap, just like playing through my SVT without the pedal, as digging in a bit more gives more grind, for example, if the drive is set right at the sweet spot.
