I have owned several SA's over the years. Today, I tried one with my Yamaha amp. I tried it in front of and in the effects loop. It just sounds horrible!

And....?
Did you plug into the FX return, bypassing the pre? Or did you try running it as an FX? If you did the latter, then of course it sucked.
