Save Pedalboard Space

Here is something pretty cool for the dexterous axe slinger that doesn’t have enough room on his/her board for a conventional wah pedal. Effects builder Chris Mahoney has just release his Wahsp mini-wah stomp pedal. The guts of the Wahsp wah is based on the famous Clyde McCoy pedal, and the results are truly outstanding. Here’s the trick though. There is a large, side-mounted knob on the Wahsp that acts as the treadle. When you roll your foot across it back and forth, it makes the traditional wah sound.

If someone were clever s/he would do the same thing with expression/volume pedals and other stompboxes.

(from what's that dude play blog)

i found it word for word on 'what's that dude play'

i'm not at all connected, and could probably have pointed that out, but wanted to see if the first reply was a cynic or not.

It's a nice idea, I've seen other pedals with a similar thing for volume, but never wah. I'd like to see how well it works. Easier to bypass too.

Interesting. I'd be worried that I'd break it. Plus I don't know how much pedal board space it saves if you still have to have room to put your foot on it without stepping on other pedals.

I'd still like to try it. The Jacques Trinity has a footswitch wah that I'd like to try as well.

That's what I was thinking. Unless it sticks up a good inch above the pedal's face (so it will be higher than the footswitches on neighboring pedals) or is on the left side of a board, it could be problematic. It could be useful if it's tall enough.
