If it's less than $500 you need to buy it NOW.

OK, I'm guessing I'm not the only one here who made a bid for this pedal. It quickly got out of my league, though.

Someone is laying down some serious cash for this!

Tell me more about this Schumann Lion pedal. In other words, why is it commanding such a high dollar?

Rare, elitist, made by a mad genius who has fallen off the earth, used by radiohead/portishead and other 'cool bands', expensive to start with.

Ok, so what does it do? Is it a fuzz? Overdrive? Something completely different?

Maybe clips would help!

LION

The LION is a distortion device and a clean booster with two complete circuits that can be mixed independently.

Has a bypass footswitch and boost footswitch that gives extra distortion.

Great for bass -- distortion that doesn't cut out the low end.

Great for guitar -- minor chords retain clean harmonics -- you can get great distortion but still hear definition of notes.
Good luck finding a clip

I have a feeling, perhaps, that we'll be hearing some clips shortly, no?

I'm looking at you, grygrx.

Yeah, I emailed the dude. Didn't hear back. Researched fuzz pedals for my wee grieving session.

If someone gets it from here, they owe clips. THINK OF THE CHILDREN.

You guys aren't local, so that's probably why you didn't hear back. Hope this takes the sting away:

He was willing to ship. I heard back from him, and I put in a pretty good offer...or so I thought.

Damn elitist pedal collectors with abundant expendable cash!

Sorry guys. I'm not the elitist pedal collector with tons of cash. I'm a poor bass player like the rest of you.

I made a strong offer and a strong argument, and the pedal is in the mail!!!

I've been RELIGIOUSLY searching for a Lion for more than a year, ever since I saw The Red Sparowes. Their bass player plays a Stingray through the same head as mine (Mesa Boogie Big Block 750) and uses the Lion to get AMAZING TONE.

So, fortunately, I finally found one. Unfortunately, I'll be eating mac n' cheese for a while, as I am now very broke.
