If you know anything about me, the link I'm about to post is sadly predictable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0fELeOpenE&fmt=18
Before you react in a similar manner to " Search.", you should know that I am not looking for a fuzz or distortion recommendation, but a pedal below $200 that can cop THAT overlaying synth tone the Akai is producing, track well, and be no bigger than about twice the size of a Boss compact unit.
Also, I am aware that on the original track, Matt does put a real synth over it, but that synth is not present in the Instrumental above. Listen to it and the song, and you can distinguish the synth itself immediately.
Off-hand, the Ibanez SB7 catches my attention. Any others? |

The SB7, for instance, is not a synth, so much as it is a distorto-filter, and yet to my ears (from TaySte's clips), it sounds more in the ballpark than many marketed "synths" below $200. |

This is it? |

Here's my attempt with a little combo of my own...Not sure if I'd use this live or just use fuzz alone. http://soundclick.com/share?songid=7793091
Unto making the list of what songs I would like to suggest for a setlist.. |

Keep working on it. |

Even with that setup, I loose my fuzz in the 3Leaf's efx loop so I'm not sure what I will do right now.. |

I think I'm going to get a new fuzz that's simply a fuzz and nothing else. So, to be honest, the clips are useless. If you want clips of the Otto Filter on its own, let me know. Sorry

I think I decided against both the SB7 and Otto altogether, because I think I may have found the formula, but I won't be able to report on it until September when I have the money to finally build a faux' real pedalboard. |

Care to share? I've learnt today that I can't get the Hysteria tone.

It astounds me to no end that such a commonly sought-after tone seems to be beyond reach, even for the man himself. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
