Searching for a DI/Preamp

Sign in to disble this ad
I am currently looking around to find a DI box. I want to get one that has a preamp, like the SABDDI. However, I also want an effects loop (post EQ, pre DI) so that I can insert my looper pedal after the EQ, but it will still go the FOH.

I know that the Tonebone Bassbone has a loop, but I couldn't find whether it was pre or post EQ.

Obviously if it is post EQ then it is an option, but are there any others out there?

Also, the sound is something to consider. I go for a fairly modern, clean sound - think Trace Elliot rather than Ampeg. I wouldn't mind the option of being able to get the woofy vintage Ampeg sound, but it is not crucial.

Cheers for any suggestions.

As you can see from their block diagram, the loop is post EQ.

I definitely like the Bassbone. It's a solid piece of kit. If I could change some things on it, I would have the bass control voice a bit lower, parametric mids and another set of knobs rather than the contour switch (which is ok though). As well as a loop send/receive jacks rather than having to use an insert cable.
